Dr. Michael Zhang, Sobey Professorship in Finance, Information Systems and Management Science鈥�
Dr. Michael Zhang鈥痠s Associate Professor in the Department of Finance, Information Systems and鈥疢anagement Science at the Sobey School of Business. He was Acting鈥疉ssociate鈥疍ean in Research and鈥疜nowledge Mobilization鈥痑t the Sobey School of Business鈥痜rom 2019 to 2020. He also holds Adjunct鈥疨rofessor appointments in the Department of Applied Human Sciences at the University of Prince Edward鈥疘sland and the Department of Industrial Engineering at Dalhousie University. Dr. Zhang鈥檚 research is in the鈥痑rea of analytics in healthcare services management and operations management. He is currently鈥疦ominated Principal Investigator on鈥疭upporting Youth with Mental Health Conditions using Machine鈥疞earning and Analytics鈥痺ith a three-year, $273,000 grant from鈥疭ocial Sciences and Humanities Research鈥疌ouncil. His work has been published in numerous journals, including 11 A* and A鈥痯ublications鈥痑t the鈥痡ournals ranked at ABDC List.鈥疕e is supervising one PhD student and five Master鈥檚 students on analytics鈥痯rojects in healthcare and supply chain management.鈥疍r. Zhang was president of the Saint Mary鈥檚鈥疷niversity faculty union from 2018 to 2019. He received his PhD in Management Science from the Ivey鈥疊usiness School, University of Western Ontario; his Master of Economics (Financial Engineering) from鈥疿iamen University, China, in 1998; and his BSc (Electronic Engineering) from Zhejiang University, China in鈥�1994.
