Join us for this engaging short course on circularity as co-operative strategy. This day-long course, animated by leaders with deep sector experience, will explore specific and practical examples of circular economy business models in use by leading co-operatives. Circular economy as a framework is powerful and aligned with a co-operative ethos of generating financial surplus alongside positive environmental and community benefits. The course content is applied across a range of contexts, including a variety of sectors, membership types, and locations.  

We will take a deep dive into the why, what, and how of circular economy as co-operative strategy. Join us to build your knowledge and fill your toolbox. Case study examples are used throughout the day to illustrate a diverse set of practices from the United States and other countries and regions, including Europe, Canada, Latin America, and beyond. 

When and Where

A pre-2026 Cooperative IMPACT Conference short course will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM at s head office located at 2011 Crystal Drive, Suite 800, Arlington, Virginia 22202, USA.

What to Expect

Gain a toolkit of practices, a new network of colleagues, and a deeper understanding of what, why and how of circularity as strategy. You will learn the co-operative framework for circular economy, evaluate real-world examples of co-operative excellence, and determine the actions required to integrate circularity as strategy within your organizational context. Plus, you will build relationships with co-operative peers in the room.

Upon request, participants receive a Certificate of Completion issued by the É«»¨Ìà Centre for Co-operative Management at Saint Mary’s University.

Registration and payment is through the registration system. The course fee is $350 USD. Some discounts will be available (based on need) upon request.
